When I first pulled up to Apartmani Luka & Iva, honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from this four-star property tucked away in the Vrulje area of Šibenik. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that surprise you. The building has this clean, modern look without being flashy, and there’s something immediately welcoming about the whole setup. I mean, finding a place to park can be a nightmare in Croatia during peak season, but they’ve got parking right on site — and it’s free, which is honestly a godsend.

The Neighborhood Feel

What I really love about this location is how it strikes that perfect balance between being close to everything but not right in the tourist chaos. You’re still in Šibenik proper, so getting to the old town with its stunning cathedral takes maybe ten minutes by car, but you’re in this quieter residential area where you can actually hear yourself think. The locals seem to really know this spot — I noticed couples especially seem drawn to it, and after staying there, I totally get why. There’s something romantic about having your own space while still being connected to the city’s energy.

Your Own Croatian Home

The apartment I stayed in felt more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying in typical hotel accommodation. Each unit comes with its own kitchen, which is actually well-equipped — not one of those sad little setups with just a mini-fridge. I ended up cooking breakfast a few mornings using ingredients from the local market, and it felt wonderfully authentic. The room itself was spacious and thoughtfully designed, with enough storage that I could actually unpack for once instead of living out of my suitcase.

Here’s the thing about Apartmani Luka & Iva — it’s not trying to be something it’s not. There’s no pretentious lobby or overly formal service, just genuine Croatian hospitality that feels real. The owners clearly put thought into the details that matter to travelers. The Wi-Fi actually works well (crucial for staying connected), the air conditioning keeps things comfortable during those hot summer days, and everything feels clean and well-maintained without being sterile.

Why Guests Love It

After talking to other guests and experiencing it myself, I think this place works so well because it gives you the independence of having your own space while still providing that hotel-level reliability. You can grab groceries and make your own coffee in the morning, but you also know someone’s there if you need recommendations or help with anything. The location really is the star here — close enough to walk to a decent restaurant for dinner, but far enough from the crowds that you can enjoy some peace. For couples especially, there’s something special about having your own little Croatian retreat while exploring everything Šibenik has to offer.

  Wir (Familie mit Kleinkind) hatten eine wunderbare Zeit in dem Apartment! Besonders genossen haben wir die große Terasse, auf der wir täglich gefrühstückt und abendgegessen haben. Die Aussicht ist wunderschön!
  Die Lage der Wohnung ist auch sehr gut, mit dem Auto ist man schnell in der Stadt, bei den Krka Wasserfällen oder kleinen Fischerdörfern in der Umgebung. Die Gastgeber sind auch immer schnell erreichbar, wenn man etwas benötigt und sehr sympathisch und aufmerksam. Wir können einen Aufenthalt sehr empfehlen!

  Hezké ubytování na břehu Prokjanského jezera. Místo je méně rušné, než mořský břeh u Šibenika. Pár set metrů od apartmánu je pláž. Je to sice malá vesnická pláž a nemají skoro žádnou infrastrukturu, ale je to kompenzováno klidným prostředím a absenci davu lidí.
  Samotný apartmán je velice útulný s krásným výhledem na jezero. Majitele jsou velice příjemné. V případě cestování autem dá se odtud dostat do Šibenika, Národního Parku Krka, k moři během desítek minut.

  Idealno mjesto za odmor, savršeno za obitelji sa djecom. Apartman besprijekorno čist. Sadrži sve što je potrebno. Sve je kao na slikama. Domaćini izuzetno ljubazni i dragi. U blizini plaža, Šibenik, Lidl,pekara… Svakako planiramo u budućnosti ponoviti. Preporučujem!

  The owners are very friendly people, they made us feel very comfortable. The apartment is a good base for active tourists. There are great beaches, monuments and national parks nearby. It is located in a very quiet and peaceful place, which encourages you to relax in the garden in the evening. Thank you for a very good home made wine and a great stay!
