First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Apartment Bilice by Interhome, I’ll be honest — it doesn’t scream “hotel” in the traditional sense. This three-star property in Šibenik is more like staying in someone’s well-appointed home, which honestly turned out to be exactly what I needed. The free private parking right on-site was a relief after driving through Croatia’s winding coastal roads, and you know what? That small detail immediately set a relaxed tone for the entire stay.

Location & Getting Around

The location here is genuinely impressive — recent guests have rated it 8.8, and I can see why. You’re close enough to Šibenik’s historic center to walk there easily, but far enough out to avoid the tourist crowds that can overwhelm the old town during peak season. I mean, Šibenik isn’t as famous as Dubrovnik or Split, but that’s actually part of its charm. The UNESCO-listed Cathedral of St. James is just a short stroll away, and you can reach the Krka National Park waterfalls in about 20 minutes by car.

The Apartment Experience

This isn’t your typical hotel room setup — you’re getting a proper apartment with space to actually live a bit. The kitchen was surprisingly well-equipped, which came in handy since Croatian grocery stores have amazing local produce and wines that are honestly too good to pass up. I found myself cooking breakfast most mornings instead of hunting for cafes, and there’s something really satisfying about starting your day with fresh Croatian figs and local cheese. The whole place feels lived-in rather than sterile, if that makes sense.

What Makes It Special

Here’s the thing about this place — it’s got that sweet spot of being comfortable without trying too hard. The furnishings are simple but thoughtful, and everything actually works (you’d be surprised how rare that can be). The Wi-Fi was solid, which mattered since I was doing some work between exploring. Plus, having your own space means you can come and go as you please without dealing with hotel lobby schedules or breakfast times. It’s particularly great if you’re planning day trips to places like Kornati Islands or just want to explore Šibenik at your own pace.

Why Guests Love It

The 8.3 rating really reflects what you get here — solid, reliable accommodation that doesn’t oversell itself. Couples seem to particularly appreciate the privacy and the fact that you can actually spread out and relax. I noticed the property attracts people who want to experience Croatia more like locals do, rather than tourists rushing from sight to sight. The combination of good location, practical amenities, and reasonable pricing creates this nice balance where you feel like you’re getting genuine value rather than paying for fancy extras you don’t really need.

  De voorzieningen in het ruime appartement zijn zeer goed. Alles is aanwezig tot een strijkijzer en wasmachine aan toe :-).
  Het is rustig en zit met 10 min autorijden in de stad.
  (Er waren weinig gasten op het moment dat wij er verbleven). Vriendelijke en behulpzame gastvrouw.
  Inchecken is vanaf 16u – eerder is niet mogelijk dus hou daar rekening mee als je eerder op de dag daar arriveert.
  
  What could be improved: De hygiëne liet enigszins te wensen over. De vloer van de keuken was niet schoon, de tafel plakte en het zwembad zijn we niet in gegaan. Deze was deels groen van de alg (de pomp werkte niet).
  Buitenom is wat verouderd – op de plaatjes bij het zwembad/buitenplaats ziet het er mooier uit dan in werkelijkheid. Het bed is een boxspring met een topdek maar zonder matras, maar hebben er toch redelijk goed op geslapen.

  Nagyon jól felszerelt, mosó és szárítógép, hajszárító, vasaló, kapszulás kávéfőző (kapszulával!!), micro, tisztító szerek, klíma, terasz, medence, barátságos személyzet. ☺️
  Elégedettek voltunk.
