Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from Cozy Apartment Stana in Grebastica when I first pulled up — it’s tucked away on this quiet little street called Stari Put, which literally means “old road” in Croatian. This three-star spot has that authentic Croatian charm that feels like you’re staying at a friend’s place rather than some sterile hotel room. The building itself has character, and there’s something refreshing about finding a place that’s genuinely cozy without being overly precious about it.

Location & Getting Around

Grebaštica is one of those Croatian coastal gems that most tourists rush past on their way to Šibenik — which is actually perfect for us. You’re close enough to the historic city center (about 10 minutes by car) to explore those incredible medieval streets and the famous Cathedral of St. James, but far enough away to escape the summer crowds. The apartment comes with free private parking right on site, which honestly saved me a fortune and a lot of headaches. I mean, try finding parking in Šibenik’s old town during peak season — it’s nearly impossible. From here, you can easily day-trip to Krka National Park or catch a ferry to the nearby islands.

The Space Itself

The apartment lives up to its name — it really is cozy in the best possible way. Everything you need is there without feeling cramped, and the setup works particularly well for couples (which explains why it gets such high marks from romantic getaways). The kitchen is actually functional, not just decorative like in some places, so you can grab fresh ingredients from the local market and cook dinner if you want. The Wi-Fi works reliably, the air conditioning keeps things comfortable during those hot Dalmatian summers, and the whole place feels clean and well-maintained. It’s not upscale by any means, but it’s thoughtfully put together.

What I really appreciated about staying here is how it puts you right in the middle of authentic Croatian life. Grebaštica isn’t a tourist bubble — it’s where locals actually live and work. There’s a small grocery store within walking distance, and the nearby restaurants serve the kind of seafood that fishing families have been preparing for generations. The coastline here is less developed than the famous spots, which means you can actually find a quiet spot to swim without fighting for space. Plus, the locals are genuinely friendly once they realize you’re not just another day-tripper rushing through.

  Super vakantie gehad dankzij appartement Stana. Zoals het op de foto's stond,was alles zelfde en de balkon is super fijn vooral met de mooie uitzicht. Op loopafstand naar de strand,omdat het dichtbij was 2 keer per dag naar de strand geweest.
  Super vriendelijke eigenaren en vooral met Stana konden we goed communiceren,ze sprak ook Nederlands. Hele lieve mensen,we zijn 9 dagen daar gebleven en hele leuke tijd doorgebracht. Samen koffie gedronken,zelfs hebben we naar een Turks serie gekeken:)
  Heel lief dat we ook nog van ze druiven en vijgen hebben gekregen uit hun tuin,heerlijk.
  Dat er nog zo lieve en aardige mensen nog bestaan,dat is mooi om te zien..
  We willen zeker nog een keer verblijven in appartement Stana

  Apartament położony w niewielkiej miejscowości Grebastnica ale w niedalekiej odległości od najpiękniejszych miejsc w Chorwacji: Szybenik, Trogir, Split, Primosten, wodospady Krka. Plaża w w odległości 250m , bez tłumów , płytkie wejście do wody, idealne na kąpiel z dziećmi, woda w zatoce spokojna. Bardzo mili i przyjacielscy gospodarze Stana i Marko, zawsze pomocni i służący dobrą radą. Częsta wymiana ręczników i pościeli. Niedaleko niewielki sklep spożywczy, w apartamencie duży balkon, na którym można spędzić miło czas ciepłym wieczorem.

  Everything was beyond our expectations. The host she is such a wonderful person, very attentive with us in special with my daughters, we like her a lot. The kitchen is fully equipped , the rooms are nice and cozy like in the pictures.
  The beach is very close , 5 minutes walk and very nice beach ,perfect for kids.
  We really enjoyed our staying. Thank you Stana for everything, you are a special person.

  Apartman je bio čist i uredan, domaćini izuzetno ljubazni i uslužni. Potrudili su se da nam boravak bude ugodan i omogućili nam i više od onog što smo tražili. Blizina plaže. Svakako preporučamo.

  I reserved accommodation for myself and my family. Extremely satisfied with the staying in these apartments. Everything is very clean and cozy. The owners of the house Ms. Stana and Mr. Marko are very friendly and extremely kind and hospitable. Ms. Stana often changed the towels, which added extra comfort, as well as the bed linen. All photos are true to reality, extremely cool terrace where you can have dinner and watch the sea view. It is a 5-minute walk to the sea, there is enough space on the beach. Nearby is a supermarket and restaurants and cafes on the seashore. 15 minutes by car to the shopping center. We are very pleased! Also we will recommend this accommodation to our friends
