When I first pulled up to MaMio on Jadrtovački put, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a modest three-star property. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in understated packages. The building itself has this clean, contemporary feel without trying too hard to impress — and there’s something refreshing about that approach in Šibenik, where you’re not always looking for flashy accommodations anyway.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s the thing about MaMio’s location — it’s one of those spots that works perfectly without being right in the tourist chaos. You’re close enough to walk into Šibenik’s old town (maybe 10-15 minutes on foot), but far enough out that you actually get some peace and quiet. The parking situation alone makes this place worth considering — I mean, finding free parking anywhere near Croatian coastal towns is basically winning the lottery. Couples seem to get this location thing figured out pretty quickly, which makes sense when you want that romantic evening stroll into the historic center without dealing with car headaches.

The Room Experience

My room was honestly better than I expected for a three-star place. Clean lines, decent space, and — this matters more than you’d think — really good air conditioning that actually works when you need it. The bathroom was modern enough, and I appreciated that everything felt fresh rather than that tired, over-renovated feeling you sometimes get. Nothing fancy, but everything you actually need was there and working properly. The beds are comfortable too, which isn’t always a given at this price point.

What Sets It Apart

Look, MaMio isn’t trying to be something it’s not, and that’s actually its strength. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work — not in that over-the-top way, but in a practical, helpful manner that feels authentic. The property is impeccably maintained, and you can tell they pay attention to details that matter to travelers. It’s the kind of place where everything just works. Your shower has good pressure, the WiFi doesn’t cut out, and nobody’s bothering you with unnecessary services you didn’t ask for. This three-star hotel delivers exceptional value for discerning travelers.

That 9.7 rating isn’t an accident — this place delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. For couples especially, it hits that sweet spot of being romantic enough for a getaway while practical enough that you’re not stressed about logistics. You’re getting solid value here, with the bonus of being able to explore Šibenik properly without the typical accommodation headaches. Sometimes the best travel experiences come from places that simply do the basics really, really well — and MaMio definitely falls into that category.

  Imali smo fantastičan boravak u ovom apartmanu! Bio je izuzetno prostran i besprijekorno čist — sve je bilo uredno i čak i bolje nego na slikama. Domaćin je bio vrlo ljubazan, susretljiv i uvijek dostupan za sva pitanja, što je dodatno poboljšalo naše iskustvo. Toplo preporučujem ovaj smještaj svima koji traže udoban i bezbrižan boravak!

  The host is very nice. The place was very clean. Beds are pretty comfy. Has a washing machine.

  What could be improved: The home is situated in a residential area with lots of construction and just plain garbage all around. The home appears to be decorated straight or of an Ikea catalog. Modern and not comfortable.
  There is an AC unit in the living room, but the bedrooms get very warm at night. We had to put on the lowest setting and leave doors open.
  The bathroom shower tub is designed awfully. It only has a handheld sprayer that is set so low and in an odd place, you have to hold the sprayer while taking a shower and try to remember to be careful not to spray around the room. There's no tub enclosure so it's easy to do. There were no amenities provided, short of some leftover mens shampoo. Would have been nice to have hotel sized products available.
  I know it's a European thing but being American, I would love to have a top sheet. The Duvets are hot and there's nothing else, and who knows when they've been washed last? It is also customary to have 2 pillows pp. I HAVE TO sleep w a pillow between my knees. Only one pillow per guest was provided.
  All in all, it was ok for the price and the fact it was clean and the host Marko was very nice, made up for the detriments. I feel him and his wife are new at this. Hopefully they'll read this review and make the minor adjustments.

  Nice apartment with two bedrooms, living room and well equipped kitchen. Two toilets are great for 4people too. Air conditioning and big TV, what else do you need 🙂
  
  What could be improved: The beds in second bedroom have matraces made from marble or diamond. Too hard.

  Everything was clean and set up nicely! The hosts were very nice and though they spoke limited English, their son helped us as he arrived the same time as we did. Make sure to have a vehicle of your own if your planning to stay here as it is far from transit and the main city. It is a 8 minute drive to the city centre but it would be lots of walking otherwise.

  It’s fantastic clean place. Everything is new. Owners are kind, friendly and nice people. House (and apartment) are new, it is not one of old apartments that someone try to make “modern and new” with two new lamps and one new sofa.
  In less than 15 minutes drive we were in Sibenik (near cathedral, on Brodarica beach to in big mall.
  Bad was great, kitchen is new, lot of towels, free parking, fast internet…
