First Impressions

You know what caught me off guard about POOL me up!? The name made me expect something flashy or gimmicky, but this four-star property in Šibenik is actually quite refined. Walking up to the entrance on Karlovačka street, I was struck by how the building manages to feel both contemporary and respectful of the surrounding Croatian architecture. The staff greeted me with genuine warmth — not that rehearsed hotel politeness you get at chain properties, but the kind of welcome that makes you feel like you’re visiting friends who happen to run a really nice place.

Location & Neighborhood

Honestly, the location is one of those pleasant surprises that makes a trip memorable. You’re close enough to Šibenik’s historic center that you can easily walk to the stunning Cathedral of St. James (a UNESCO World Heritage site, by the way), but far enough from the tourist crowds that you get a real sense of how locals actually live. I mean, there’s something special about grabbing morning coffee at a neighborhood café where you’re the only visitor among regulars reading their newspapers. The couples who stay here clearly appreciate this balance — they’ve rated the location 8.0, and I can see why. It’s romantic without being touristy, if that makes sense.

The Room & Amenities

My room was spacious and thoughtfully designed, with clean lines and a color palette that somehow managed to be both calming and energizing. The bathroom was particularly well-appointed — you know how hotel bathrooms can feel like afterthoughts? Not here. What really impressed me was the attention to practical details: plenty of outlets where you actually need them, blackout curtains that work properly, and air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a freight train. The pool area (which obviously inspired the hotel’s playful name) is genuinely inviting, not just something to photograph for Instagram.

Service & Dining

The service strikes that perfect balance between attentive and unobtrusive. The staff clearly knows the area well — they gave me restaurant recommendations that were spot-on, including a little konoba tucked away in the old town that I never would have found on my own. Breakfast was fresh and locally sourced, with Croatian specialties alongside international options. I particularly appreciated that they didn’t try to do too much — everything they offered was done well, rather than having an overwhelming buffet of mediocre choices.

Why Guests Love It

With a 9.5 rating, POOL me up! clearly gets the fundamentals right, but what sets it apart is how it enhances your Šibenik experience rather than isolating you from it. The free private parking is a godsend if you’re exploring the Dalmatian coast by car — trust me, parking in Croatian coastal towns can be a nightmare during peak season. Recent guests have rated the location 8.6, and after spending time here, I understand why. It’s that rare hotel that feels like a discovery rather than just a place to sleep, somewhere you’d actually want to return to rather than simply recommend to others.

  The apartment is well equipped and has everything you need, and added bonus are two outside spaces, one with a pool which was great. The hosts were lovely, attentive and friendly and you felt at home straight away. Would definitely recommend this with the location only about 20 minutes walk to the centre of Sibenik.

  I like attention to details and this place had good attention to details. Everything for the comfort was available. We got some coffee capsules. A nice big smart TV. There is also a nice terrace. Also the place is very spacious. Also the parking was very comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: It's not that I didn't like but just consider that it's all perfect if you have a car. If you don't, then it might be a little difficult to reach.

  Nice place for short stay in Sibenik. The host gave us instruction how to check in, later on she came to ask if all is fine, was asking also via booking – we could feel she really takes care about our stay. Flat was comfortable & spacious, we had everything what was needed there. Parking spot right in front of apartment.
