This three-star property sits right in Šibenik’s old town, and I mean really in it — you’re literally surrounded by centuries-old stone buildings and narrow cobblestone streets. The entrance has this understated charm that doesn’t scream “tourist hotel,” which honestly made me like it even more. It feels more like you’re staying at a well-kept local guesthouse than a typical accommodation.

Location & Neighborhood

The location here is genuinely exceptional, and the numbers back it up — couples consistently rate it 9.7, which makes total sense once you’re there. You can walk to Šibenik Cathedral in about two minutes, and the waterfront promenade is just as close. What I really appreciated was being able to explore the maze-like streets of the old town without having to trek back to some distant hotel district. The narrow alleyways around House Gorica are filled with little cafés and local shops that you’d never find if you were staying outside the historic center. You know what’s great? You can actually hear the church bells from your room, but it’s not touristy-annoying — it’s more like a gentle reminder of where you are.

The rooms strike that perfect balance between modern comfort and respecting the building’s historic character. Mine had thick stone walls that kept things cool during the day, which was a blessing in the Croatian summer heat. The furnishings are clean and functional without trying too hard to be trendy — think quality basics done well rather than flashy design statements. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, and honestly, after spending days wandering around medieval streets, having a proper hot shower felt like pure bliss.

Daily Life at the Hotel

What struck me most was how the staff seemed to actually know the area — not just the standard tourist recommendations, but real local insights. They pointed me toward a family-run konoba (that’s a traditional Croatian tavern) that I never would have found otherwise, tucked away in a side street about five minutes’ walk away. The breakfast setup is straightforward but satisfying, with local breads and regional specialties that give you a proper taste of Dalmatian flavors. I actually found myself lingering over coffee longer than usual, partly because the morning light filtering through the old town creates this almost magical atmosphere.

House Gorica works because it doesn’t try to be something it’s not — it’s a well-run, comfortable base in an absolutely prime location. The 8.4 rating reflects what you get: solid three-star accommodations in a spot that five-star hotels would kill for. Couples especially seem to get it, probably because wandering these ancient streets hand-in-hand at sunset, then being able to slip back to your room in minutes, creates exactly the kind of romantic Croatian experience you came here for. It’s the kind of place where location truly trumps fancy amenities, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want.

  Easy to find. 10 minutes walk to the bus station. Immediately in the "old" town. Everything was as described and looked on Booking.com
  
  What could be improved: The only fault would be the "stretchy" sheets but we had these in most places we stayed in. Again, we didn't get to meet the hosts, everything being done by test.

  Standard studio apartment was very cute and clean. Location couln't be better, since it's in the old town. Also quiet around. Kitchen was very small but I didn't mind it, since the house itself is old, tall with narrow coridors, so it's not surprising.
  
  What could be improved: The communication between me and and the hosts was slow. I contacted one of them through their given contacts 3hrs before arriving but only reached the other host by calling the number written on the table on the house entrance when I couldn't enter the house. Also the AC placement could be better – it was directly over my head.

  Location is excellent! Quiet street, 5 min walk to Cathedral. Good communication with hosts. Beautiful terrace where we had our breakfast. We loved Šibenik

  I really liked that there were chairs and table for outside. It made the Appartment like 10 times better.
  
  What could be improved: The cezve for coes not work with the induction cooker. Would be nice if you provide a metal transmitter, so it would be actually possible to use.
